GPSSat. 9Geocache Quest 1-2pm
Explore the hidden treasures of Baltimore Woods land manager Jeff Devine. Bring your own GPS unit, or just follow along, on this quest for secret "caches”, all while discovering and enjoying the natural beauty of Baltimore Woods. Great for families and individuals. Please register! Members $2, family $5, nonmembers $5, family $15.

Each August as Earth’s orbit takes it through the dusty tail of a comet, the night sky is littered with meteors. This year, local astronomer Bob Piekiel will have his telescopes at Baltimore Woods to help reveal this heavenly light show. Back-up date Aug. 13. Please register! Members $2, family $5, nonmembers $5, family $15.

Thur. 14Nature Camp for Grown-Ups! 10:30am-2:30pm
Spend a day exploring the hidden reaches of Baltimore Woods and re-discover the joyful spirit of childhood! Your counselor, naturalist Matt Kauffman, will lead you through an experience that will place nature in your hands and reveal the value of a life long connection to nature. Bring a lunch and shoes that can get muddy. Please register! Members only, $15.

Sun. 17Wild Edibles Wildflower Walk 7-8pm Join Faust Garden caretaker Audrey Loewer to discover the bounty of wild edible and medicinal plants contained within Baltimore Woods. Meet at the pavilion, donations appreciated!

Wed. 20 Weed & Feed 12NOON
Discover the value of volunteering by joining the BWNC gardeners each Wednesday. Volunteers are treated to lunch at Baltimore Woods on the third Wednesday of each month. So come and join the Baltimore Woods family!



Sat. 23Run for the Woods
7:45am Check-In @ Marcellus Park

Runners come support BWNC and Marcellus Rotary by joining in this year’s “Run for the Woods”. Race on either 5 mile or 4K improved courses that take you through scenic Baltimore Woods. Kids are welcome to join the 1K “Fun Run”. Pick up registration forms at BWNC or download registration form online. Contact Phyllis Danks at 315.463.9993 with any questions. 5 Mile/4K = $15 registration fee before Aug. 16th, $20 after; first 100 registrants get a free t-shirt and goodie bag. 1K Fun Run = $5/adult, $3/children.

Senior Moments 10:30-11:30am

Save the Count Land Trust executive director and BWNC land manager, Jeff Devine reveals the value of meadows and what BWNC is doing to preserve open space. Program for adults w/ talks, snacks, and hikes rated easy (E), moderate (M), or vigorous (V). Please register! Members free, nonmembers $3.
