Attracting Woodland Fairies
It wasn't too long ago when nearly everyone who spent any time outdoors would see a fairy, pixie or elf in the woods. Now, with people spending so much time indoors and with houses, office parks and highways encroaching upon the woods, these magical little creatures are hardly seen anymore. They still try to do their life's work of protecting the plants and animals of the woods, but it is getting harder and harder.
In Attracting Woodland Fairies children learn about fairies, pixies and elves, what they do, what they like to eat, and activities they enjoy for fun. Children will see photos (taken at Baltimore Woods) and illustrations of fairies from various sources. They will be shown how to make a fairy house, how to decorate it with special fairy gifts and fairy dust and then head to woods to build their own fairy houses. Sometimes, when he is in town, Professor Justin Kidding, world renown Fairyology researcher, will meet with the children and lead them in the program. For dates and times, see upcoming programs.
