Mother's Day Garden Tour at Sycamore Hill Farm
 |
Flower bulbs, shrubs and trees. | This annual fund raiser for CNE is a favorite for gardeners and families, as well as the individual who can appreciate the true beauty of a garden. The 25+ acres of landscaped gardens are the work of land owners George and Karen Hanford. These gardens are opened to the public only a few times each year. Their gardens consist of several large ponds with fountains and colorful koi (large Japanese goldfish which the children can feed), statuary imported from all around the world, an exotic bell garden, evergreen maze, hundreds of thousands of planted flowering bulbs, hundreds of flowering trees and shrubs. The gardens are truly breath taking and may take several hours to view. Bring a blanket and picnic lunch to fully enjoy the day. This event is held rain or shine - and you'd be surprised how wonderful a garden can look even in the rain! Check the program calendar for day, time and price of admission. All proceeds generously go to Centers for Nature Education.
