Senior Moments

Senior MomentsStudies have shown that keeping an active body and inquisitive mind are paramount to living a long, healthy life. Senior Moments is for adults 50 or older who are always looking for something new and fun to do. A new program is offered each Tuesday from 4-5pm.

A typical program will start with the introduction of a nature related topic. Then, through indoor activities and out door hikes, several supporting facts are presented related to the topic.

Due to scheduled school programs in the months of May and June, Senior Moments has been moved to a new time slot: 4-5pm. This special two-month session of Senior Moments is being called Wildlife Rush Hour because it is in the late afternoon that wildlife starts to appear in the fields and woods, getting one last meal in before the evening beginnings. This is a time of day to take a quiet reflective walk in the woods to visit some of the spots where wildlife observation is optimal.

Senior Moments is geared for adults 50 and older, but any adult, any age may attend. The program is held on most Tuesdays from 4-5pm. Each program has a nature theme and usually includes a hike* related to the theme. Refreshments are provided. Free, non-members $3/session. Group discounts available. Call 673-1350.

* The rate of difficulty of each hike is described by one of the following letters: (E) = Easy (less than ½ mile on mostly level ground), (M) = Moderate (more than ½ mile with some hills), V = Vigorous (more than a mile).

For program topics, see upcoming programs.
